LAP-BAND® surgery requires an on-going relationship with the surgeon and the team in order to maximize success. Weight loss surgery helps with the “eating less” part, but that is only the first step. Ninety-nine percent of a patient’s success comes from the post-operative support that the surgeon offers.
As a supplement to that continuing relationship with the surgeon, we encourage patients to participate in Support Group. Designed primarily for patients who have already undergone Gastric Banding, this is a forum where patients share experiences, gain encouragement, and exchange advice on their new lifestyles – in a relaxed, safe, and non-judgmental environment.
Group is usually held at 10:30 AM the first Saturday of every month, in the conference room across from our Oak Brook office. For upcoming dates and more information about Synchrony Chicago Weight Loss’ Support Group, call our office at 630-990-2440.
We encourage our LAP-BAND patients to learn as much as they can about health, nutrition, exercise, and living with the Lap-Band. In addition to keeping a close relationship with the surgeon and team, and sharing experiences with other patients, education plays a vital role in supporting weight loss and maintenance. Our video library contains over two dozen original productions on a wide variety of support topics.
